Mo.co is a masterpiece.

Main Post:

Most of the hate is coming from people that didn't play more than an hour. Imagine if people juzged World of Warcraft by the first hour of gameplay, spamming autoattack on lvl 1 mobs.

This is the same.

The game faces the challenge of attracting the younger mobile generation of fast, instant gratification, while offering A LOT of depth for mmo veterans when you reach the endgame.

As an elite hunter lv.20 (which means level 30 and then, 20 more levels into the endgame) I wanted to take the time to respond some of the most read critics of the game by, again, people that didn't play more than an hour.

  1. "You just hold attack"

Yeah, that's the first few levels. There's a lot to get you familiar with, and they opted to make it as easy as that. The same way you right-clicked a mob on wow and watched its health deplete over time, just in a modern way.

I ASSURE you: this won't be the case on endgame world maps, you'll die a lot if you try it.

2) "The game is just running around the map (holding attack)"

When you are in the endgame and face lvl 70+ supercharged bosses, need 20+ people with several healers and tanks to take it down without wiping every 3 seconds, you can read that again. Also, rifts and the dojo gets more and more challenging.

3) "Lacks manual aim, no skill"

Actually, this is a way of offering simple gameplay to newcomers to the genre, but also, after understanding it, offers a ton of depth and new challenge to everything. If you want to target a specific mob or player, you learn you must stay closer to it than to the others. That's it. It adds a whole new layer to movement in this game, and it'll be a core part of it on the serious (endgame) bosses. Balancing between dodging the boss and healing the right ally, for example.

You WONT be able to complete most of the endgame's challenges without studying builds, making synergies and optimizing dps rotations.

Seriously guys. The game starts when you unlock the elite hunter program, the same way many mmorpg's work. It has NO pay to win and NO pay to progress at all. It is polished af. And everything has WAY more though put into it than it seems at first sight.

They fail at showing all this depth to newcomers, and I think that's a decission they made to not make them feel overwhelmed. They don't even show you the elite hunter program menu, with all its maps, bosses, challenges and rewards.

And if your answer is "I shouldn't have to grind to max level for the game to start", then this game is not for you, the same way most mmorpg's aren't.

Top Comment: I wish I also got paid to glaze the game. It's ok if you like it. No need to seek validation. However, the game is really shallow.

Games like Runescape and RPG MO?

Main Post:

Hey,

Are there any MMORPG games similar to Runescape and RPG MO?

Games where there's a lot of skills to train, combat is simple and there's player housing?

Thanks for answers!

Which is the best MMO?

Main Post:

Which is the best MMO? I played Warcraft up to level 10 and liked it, but due to the fact that it was paid, I deleted it. I want some cool online game, where there are live players and not some kind of anime game (anime is a little not for me)

Is there any nice MMO to play casually whitout having to dedicate my life to it?

Main Post:

I have a little bit of trauma from MMOs since my brother had a really strong addiction to Ragnarok Online back in the mid 2000s and would burn money and time on it.

Now almost twenty years later I think it's a nice time to try an MMO. But I don't Want something that would eat all my time, what make an MMO be worth it is having a nice community.

Top Comment: Thank you for your submission to r/rpg_gamers . Since your post has been flaired as "Recommendation request", I want to suggest editing your post to add in these details (if you haven't included them yet): The platforms you have - not listing them doesn't mean you have access to everything, so you might end up getting a game you won't be able to play. Your level of experience with the genre (beginner, intermediate, veteran...) - others can recommend you more common titles if you are a beginner, while they can focus on obscure titles if you are a RPG veteran. Aspects you enjoyed (or disliked) of previously played games - for example: characters, plot points, puzzles, combat, graphics, art styles, soundtracks... While these details aren't mandatory, if you want to get the best games, having them in your post will immensely help users and will encourage more users to participate, as they will know with more precision which games are probably the best fit for your request. Good/best MMO to play summer 2025

Main Post:

Hello everyone!

As the title suggests, Im looking for a good mmo to play during the summer.

I played a ton of throne and liberty for about 3 months before dropping it because of college. It was the first mmo that Ive ever put in so much time and had a ton of fun.

Here’s what Im looking for in a game:

  1. Class Variety – I love being able to switch things up by leveling different classes when I get bored of one.
  2. Fun Class Design – I want classes that feel good to play. Smooth rotations, satisfying abilities, and flashy visuals really matter to me.
  3. Strong Endgame – I need good endgame content (PvE or PvP—raids, dungeons, battlegrounds, etc.) that keeps me coming back.
  4. Crafting & Gathering – I really enjoy these systems, so a solid crafting/gathering setup is a must.
  5. Progression – I want to feel my character getting stronger, whether it’s through levels or gear upgrades. This is a must for me.
  6. Solo-Friendly Content – I like games that offer matchmaking or finders for dungeons, PvP, or raids—makes it easier to play when I have time.
  7. Gameplay – I prefer gameplay over story, while I do appreciate a good story, good gameplay is what would keep me coming back.
  8. Leveling – I don't mind a bit of a grind to level, but I am working part time and don't want to be spending every hour of every day trying to level.

Any suggestions or insights? I would love to hear your thoughts!!

Top Comment: I may get shit on for this take, but id avoid ff14. Its a great mmo, but getting into it now is 100 hours of boring slog msq. High highs with extremely long dull lows. If you prefer gameplay over story, id go WoW.

What MMO's are you currently playing?

Main Post:

I feel like I only hear the negatives about games on this sub, I'd love to hear what games you're currently still logging into, and whats motivating you to keep playing them.

Currently spending my time playing Brighter Shores and having a good time with it. The game really started to come together when I got to act 4, and the skills started to have a bit more interconnectivity between them. I do think the game needs some more ways to spice up the mid-endgame grinds, but it seems like a super solid base to build off of.

Other than that, been reliving my childhood and giving Realm of The Mad God another shot. Pretty fun permadeath bullet hell 'mmo', surprised its still getting content updates

Top Comment: Guild wars 2. As time progresses I find myself enjoying the chill vibes rather than competitive games.

Online - MMO Games

Main Post:

Hello!

I've never played an online Multi-Player game before and wanted to kind of take a dive into it. I am not the biggest gamer in the worled as I've mostly played like Pokemon, Digimon, Megaman and sports games. I have recently starting playing Elden ring and enjoyed it. Would like to try something new to entertain myself and play with other people. What would you all recommend?

Thank you!

Top Comment: FF14 is good. You can play free for quite a few expansions. Which is what I would do if I was to start now. Then once you reach later expansions you can decide if it’s something you want to move forward with. It has an awesome community and the players are helpful/friendly. The story in its entirety is a ride. You can also join “fc”s or “free company” which is basically like guilds that are super helpful too and a great way to make lasting friendships. Also I’d like to mention the fashion in the game is really fun to mess around with!

Good or best MMO to play in 2025

Main Post:

Hello everyone! So as the title states I’m wonder what MMO I should play in 2025! I’ll start by saying I have played world of Warcraft since the original burning crusade and I have really really enjoyed the game obviously as I have played it for that long! But now I’m looking for a different mmo to sink time into! What I really look for and like in these games is 1)class variety(being able to play/level different classes to play when bored of one) 2) class “fun” factor how fun the classes are to play themselves, does the rotation mesh well together does the rotation feel satisfying and ability’s look good on screen! 3) open world exploration 4) a great endgame to keep me coming back day after day to play wether is PVP or PVE dungeons raids type stuff I like both 5) crafting/gathering I love to craft and gather in the games so there needs to be a good crafting gather system 6) class/gear progression I like to feel my character getting stronger with every couple levels or new pieces of gear 7) “solo content” meaning having types of in game finders for dungeons PVP battle grounds or raids 8) a great looking game to really hook me into the world. I’m not a huge story person I prefer gameplay over story and I know I’m in the minority of MMO players when I say this but I much prefer the destination over the journey when it comes to leveling and reaching endgame I’m a father with full time job so I don’t want to spend ages on ages leveling like classic wow I enjoy a good level process but like reaching endgame where the grind begins type deal! I’ve been looking at FFxiv online elder scrolls online new world guild wars 2 destiny 2 warframe any recommendations?
